Our customer who lives in Bradley, Huddersfield suffered a burglary where access was gained through a PVCu window. The original window had been installed by the building company who built the estate and as is normally the case, budget took precedence over quality.
The windows had been manufactured using a Eurogrove to facility the espag locking system which is quite normal. The Eurogrove on this window, however, was set to the immediate inside edge of the opening sash, giving no structural support to the locking system. Unfortunately, the lock failed when force was applied giving the criminal relatively easy access to the property.
Gardinia has now replaced all the windows to the rear elevation of our customer’s property using our latest Steel Reinforced, multi-chambered ‘A+5’ energy rated PVCu window. The Eurogrove on this frame sits centrally to the opening sash, giving significant structural support to our high-security Multi-point Maco Locking system. The security on this window is so high, Maco now offer a security guarantee with all our PVCu Casement windows.
It goes without saying that our customers can now sleep comfortable at night knowing they are secure in their own home.
