At Gardinia we always try to do our bit for the environment where possible, from the little things like recycling paper, and switching lights off when not in use. To trying to dispose of our waste in the most environmentally friendly way as possible.
With this in mind Gardinia disposes of all its consumer UPVC waste in line with the company’s social awareness policy. Existing UPVC window frames removed on new installations are sent to the Young Engineers Academy (YEA) for reclining.
The Young Engineers Academy is a not-for-profit social enterprise that provides permanent jobs for young people within a commercial recycling operation.
The academy aims to facilitate young people into work and economic activity within the Yorkshire Region by providing a commercially viable platform that offers manufacturing and engineering opportunities and experiences.
Matthew Hill of Gardinia and Mark Sheldon of The Young Engineers Academy are exploring all avenues of collaboration to further improve Gardenia’s green credentials and help the YEA continue to offer young people opportunities.
