Sometimes customers have difficulty finding our showroom, if you enter the postcode HD1 6DD in to a satnav, chances are you will end up at the other end of Leeds Road.
Some satnavs do allow you to enter the house / building number, which should give you a much more accurate destination, however that is not always the case either in our customers experience.
My preferred method has always been Google Maps as you can enter a business name and easily get accurate directions.
Another solution also exists called What3words.
What3words is a geocode system designed to identify any location with an accuracy of about 3 metres. This system takes GPS coordinates such as 53.6499883,-1.7783556,20.47z and converts them in to three words that are both human readable and memorable.
These three words are unique per country, so for example to find Gardinia you can search for class.sends.brass and pinpoint exactly where we are, with no confusion:
Interestingly enough if we click on the locations of Mike’s showroom office in our building, the three words for that are studio.whips.dance, so you can wonder what Mike gets up to in there…
What3words also allows you to share locations very easily on Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and Email with ease, so can be a good way of linking someone to your current location, especially if you were stuck in the middle of nowhere:
You can also use the service to start navigating with Citymapper, Google Maps, Bing Maps or Waze, allowing your favourite satnav app to still get you from A to B:
What3words can be an easy alternative to find somewhere you are struggling to on more traditional map / navigation systems.
Hopefully this blog might one day help a costumer who is struggling to find Gardinia Windows, despite our prominent location you’d be surprised how frequently people have issues finding Gardinia with a satnav.
Why not checkout What3words you could find it rather useful trying to help someone find a more tricky location. You can also download What3words on Google Play or What3words on Apple Store depending on the mobile device you own.
