Gardinia Windows recently celebrated its 30th year of trading, Gardinia was founded by Michael Foster in 1983 at Ringway Industrial Estate in Huddersfield. However within a year had moved to its prominent site at 3 Leeds Road.
Mr Foster was later joined in the business by his wife Judith. Gardinia’s first “milestone” contract came in 1984 when Gardinia installed thermal-efficient windows at the West Yorkshire Ambulance Service control centre at Birkenshaw. Other notable projects have included Buxton House flats in Huddersfield and the much-acclaimed Round House, near Castle Hill.
Over the years Gardinia has established a solid reputation with customers for providing a quality service. The company lays claim to be the only firm in its sector in the town to have been in continual business for 30 years.
Gardinia’s latest developments include Evolution, a new cottage-style window combining the look and feel of traditional wood with state-of-the-art modern window technology, and a new roofing system which transforms the traditional conservatory into an extension which can be used all year round.
While most of Gardinia’s customers are in the Kirklees area, the company has carried out work following recommendations in Maidenhead, Kent, and supplied windows as far away as the Caribbean.
Gardinia has always had a reputation for quality and has always tried to stay one step ahead of the competition. A lot of customers come back to Gardinia because the company has given good service, and some of them are customers who had products fitted 30 years ago when the company began!
