If you are thinking about having new windows installed with an authentic external Georgian bar, keep in mind not all authentic Georgian bars are created equally.
Authentic external Georgian bars used by Gardinia are connected to full length aluminium fixing strips, which are bonded to the glass unit. This combined with the spacer bar grid inside the unit gives the impression each pain is a separate unit. The strength comes from the plastic bar clipping on to the aluminium allowing it to expand and contract ever so slightly, in varying temperatures without it breaking the bond, unlike with double sized tape, which can come unstuck over time.
Our system ensures the Georgian grille does not shrink, warp or detach, regardless of the weather conditions. This is an important consideration given how the English weather can be.
Below is a deteriorating example we recently spotted in Huddersfield where the Georgian Bar has simply been glued on:
This is a photo showing the internals of our quality, authentic external Georgian bar:
Below is an example of one of our windows in the showroom, with a authentic external Georgian Bars:
As you can clearly see, not all authentic external Georgian bars are created equally, so its certainly worth enquiring more in to the manufacturing process if an authentic Georgian look is desirable at home.

Hi, could you please advise where can I buy aluminium fixing strips and also how to bond them to the glass.
Hi Ana, unfortunately this is not something we can supply separately as a retrofit product.
