Gardinia was approached by a lovely couple who live on Waterloo Road in Huddersfield to replace their existing fascia’s, cladding and guttering to their Dorma bungalow. This was because the original cladding was coming apart and splitting away.
The work involved a significant amount of scaffolding, to be able to work over their conservatory and up on the roof in front of their Dorma window. This was required to meet Health and Safety regulations to fulfil our obligation to work safe on our client’s property.
The work involved the careful removal of the old cladding and fascia’s, along with the disposal from site on completion of the debris in a good workman like fashion.
The area was then prepared for the new cladding by introducing a breathable membrane to prevent water passing into the property. The new cladding was then affixed to the building with screws and sealed where required with the appropriate matching silicone sealant.
It was decided at the beginning of the exercise that it was imperative to protect the edges of their roof tiles, we took care to install new edgings and if you take a close look at the photos you can see that we installed two varieties of trim. One is the straight trim for fitting onto gable ends and the other is the sectional trim which is designed to close off the tile end tile by tile. Both are as efficient as each other in terms of weathering.
The guttering was installed in a black finish and all the new fascia’s were installed to the front of the property in White.
End result is our clients were over the moon with the results and were happy to pay their invoice for such a smart job of work.
